The Happiness Project at Apple Crisp

ARTIST BLOC, SWEETIE TRUCK & APPLE CRISP PRESENT
HAPPY HERE : THE HAPPINESS PROJECT IN THE HOUSE

The Happiness Project is created to bring art, sound, and a lightness of spirit right into the neighbourhood. This installation creates a space for neighbours from near and far to walk through the doors of a local home and feel truly happy and lightened. The project is based on Charles Spearin’s (of Broken Social Scene and Do Make Say Think) album The Happiness Project, which is a collection of sound recordings of his neighbours’ musings on happiness set to beautiful musical orchestration. Each room in the house is originlly designed by an individual or team of artists to reflect and interpret one of the tracks from album. The exhibit features Kingston, Montreal and Toronto based artists.

Presenting rooms created by Don Maynard | Jon Claytor | Nicole Aline Legault l Josh Lyon | Marney McDiarmid + Annie Clifford | Jeff Barbeau + Vince Perez | Arron Gibson

The Happiness Project will jump your heart into your mouth and make it smile big and wide. A multidiscipinary, experimental exhibition based on Charles Spearin’s (Broken Social Scene, Do Make SayThink) record of the same name, it features a stellar cast of artists who take over every room of a Kingston home. Come & visit the house.
